FAQ

Questions about the Logimu API.

Short answers to what developers and data teams ask most about Amazon and Walmart product data: history, freshness, sellers, tracking, bulk lookups, pricing and switching from other APIs. The full reference is in the API docs.

Getting Amazon product data

Is there an official Amazon API for product data now that PA-API is gone?

Not one you can simply sign up for. Amazon retired the Product Advertising API (PA-API 5) in May 2026, and its replacement, the Creators API, requires an Amazon Associates account with 10 qualifying sales every 30 days. The Selling Partner API needs a registered seller account and app, and it keeps no price or Buy Box history. Logimu is an independent API: one key returns product data for 11 Amazon marketplaces and Walmart US, with no Amazon account or approval. PA-API alternative →

I can't meet the Creators API sales requirement. How do I get Amazon product data for my site?

Use an API that does not depend on Associates sales. Logimu needs no Associates account, no sales quota and no approval: sign up, choose a plan from $19 a month and call the API. If you show prices next to Associates links, Amazon’s Associates policies on how prices and availability are displayed still apply to you. PA-API alternative →

Do I need an Amazon seller account, an Associates account or Amazon's approval?

No. You sign up at api.logimu.com, choose a plan and get an API key in minutes. Logimu is not affiliated with Amazon or Walmart.

Which marketplaces does Logimu cover?

Amazon US, UK, Germany, Canada, Australia, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, Mexico and Brazil, plus Walmart US, with one key at one price. Pass country=us, uk, de, ca, au, fr, it, es, jp, mx, br or walmart.

Can I look up a product by UPC, EAN or ISBN instead of an ASIN?

Yes. GET /v1/product?gtin= accepts any UPC, EAN, GTIN or ISBN-13 and resolves it to the matching ASIN on the marketplace you ask for: from our own observations, from the same product on another Amazon marketplace, or from Amazon’s own search. One barcode can belong to several ASINs (multipacks, duplicate listings): the best match is returned and gtin_matches lists the others. The lookup is included in the product price, and a barcode that nothing resolves is not billed. Docs →

Is there a Walmart product data API?

Walmart’s Marketplace API is for managing your own seller listings. Logimu returns Walmart US product records by item ID with country=walmart: price, stock, ratings, page content and price and stock history, for 0.5 credit per record. Walmart data →

Can I get product details such as images, descriptions, variations and reviews?

Yes. Product records include the title, images, bullet points, description, category breadcrumbs, dimensions and weight, the variation matrix (child ASINs and their attributes) and the reviews shown on the product page, up to 50, with content_observed_at saying when the page content was read. Docs →

Price history and freshness

How do I get Amazon price history and Buy Box history through an API?

Call GET /v1/product with an ASIN and bsr_history=true / offer_history=true. The record includes the price and sales-rank history, every seller we observed with a daily price series, and the Buy Box timeline: who held it, from when to when, at what price. A full record costs 0.5 credit; history_only=true returns just the stored series for 0.05 credit. Docs →

How far back does the history go?

History goes back to 2023. Every record states its own range (observed_from and observed_to), so you can see the depth for each product in the answer.

How often is the data updated? Is it real-time?

As fresh as you need: mode=live fetches any listing from Amazon at the moment you call (1 credit, billed only when it returns data), and any product you track is re-read every hour, or every 2, 4, 12 or 24 hours if you prefer. The products in the live demo on this site are re-read every hour, and the busiest Amazon listings several times a day without you asking. Every answer carries the time it was observed (observed_at). Prices can differ by delivery location; for a specific US ZIP code use /v1/offers?zip=.

Can I get the current price of any product right now?

Yes. mode=live fetches the product page from Amazon when you call (1 credit, history included), and GET /v1/offers fetches the live offers page with every offer and the Buy Box (0.5 credit; a product with no offer right now costs nothing). Both work on all 11 Amazon marketplaces. Docs →

Sellers, offers and stock

Can I see every seller on a listing and who holds the Buy Box?

Yes. The product record lists every observed seller with price, seller ID, fulfilment (sold by Amazon, FBA or FBM), Prime, feedback rating and delivery estimate, marks the current Buy Box holder, and gives each seller’s share of the Buy Box over the last 30 days. Used, refurbished and collectible offers are added with include_used=true. Docs →

What do I get when a product is out of stock or has no Buy Box?

Every read has one of three states: in_stock (a Buy Box exists), no_buybox (offers exist but Amazon features none) or out_of_stock (no offers at all). A no_buybox read carries the cheapest new offer’s price, and an out_of_stock read is confirmed by a second read from another location before it is recorded. Docs →

Can I check whether an item can be delivered to a specific ZIP code?

Yes, on Amazon.com. GET /v1/offers?zip=94110 reads the offers page as a shopper at that ZIP sees it and returns Amazon’s confirmed delivery location and whether the item can be delivered there right now, which matters for Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods items that only deliver to some areas. It costs 1 credit when an offer is found; a rejected ZIP or no offer costs nothing. Docs →

Tracking and alerts

How can I monitor the Buy Box and get alerts on price drops or stock-outs?

Track the product with POST /v1/track and add notify_if: a price below or above a threshold, a percentage price change, a Buy Box seller change, an offer-count threshold, or a change between in stock, no Buy Box and out of stock. Alerts arrive as signed webhooks (retried after 1, 5 and 30 minutes), by email, or both. Docs →

Does tracking cost credits?

No. Each plan includes a daily allowance of tracked reads, from 2,500 a day on Solo to 710,000 on Volume; a product tracked every 4 hours uses 6 a day. Reading the product afterwards is priced as usual, for example 0.05 credit for the history alone. Docs →

Do cached product answers show the latest tracked read?

Yes. Each tracked read reaches the API within a minute or two, and a mode=cache answer is built from the newest one: price, Buy Box seller, stock state and the current offers, each with its observation time.

Can I add and remove thousands of tracked products at once?

Yes. POST /v1/track takes up to 1,000 ASINs per call, POST /v1/track/stop stops a list, and POST /v1/track/sync makes your tracked set match the list you send, with a dry_run preview. A bulk call counts as one request against the rate limit. Docs →

Bulk lookups

How do I get the current price and sales rank for 200,000 ASINs?

Run them as batch jobs of up to 20,000 rows each, with the credit cost shown before each one runs; results are kept for 30 days. A full product record is 0.5 credit, so 200,000 ASINs use 100,000 credits, the monthly allowance of the $50 Starter plan. The stored price and rank history alone is 0.05 credit per ASIN. Bulk / batch API →

How long does it take to pull 50,000 ASINs?

About 25 minutes from our warehouse on the $19 Solo plan: 50,000 records with every seller plus price, rank and Buy Box history cost 0.5 credit each and fit its 25,000 monthly credits. There is no token refill to wait for. Worked example →

Pricing and billing

How much does the Logimu API cost?

Plans run from $19 a month for 25,000 credits to $3,000 a month for 20 million. A product record from our warehouse costs 0.5 credit, a live fetch 1 credit and the history alone 0.05 credit. Every plan can be cancelled any time and has a 14-day money-back guarantee. Pricing →

Am I charged for failed or empty requests?

No. A product we can’t find, a failed fetch, an empty search and a barcode that nothing resolves cost nothing. Every response carries credits_charged, so you see exactly what each call cost.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. The live demo on logimu.com runs real searches with no signup, the MCP connector for Claude and ChatGPT answers 30 queries a day with no signup, and every paid plan has a 14-day money-back guarantee.

Switching from Keepa or Rainforest

Is there a cheaper alternative to the Keepa API?

Logimu prices each call instead of selling tokens that refill per minute: a product record with price, rank and Buy Box history is 0.5 credit, the history alone 0.05, and you spend your monthly credits whenever your job runs. For the same monthly volume that is up to 5× cheaper than Keepa’s plans; the worked example is on our Keepa API alternative page.

How hard is it to switch from the Keepa API?

The data maps one to one, so you change your client, not your data model: Keepa’s price arrays become price_history, salesRanks becomes bsr_history, and buyBoxSellerIdHistory becomes the Buy Box timeline. The field-by-field map is on our Keepa API alternative page.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Rainforest API?

For the same live product records with their offers, Logimu works out 3–20× cheaper on each side’s cheapest plan, and every record can also carry price, rank and Buy Box history. A failed request is never billed. Rainforest API alternative →

Sales numbers

Can I get sales numbers for an Amazon product?

You get Amazon’s own “bought in past month” badge exactly as the page shows it, with its history over time, and on Amazon.com a modelled monthly sales_estimate calibrated on those badges. The badge is a rounded floor such as “1K+ bought in past month”, not an exact count; the estimate is labelled as an estimate. Docs →

AI assistants

How do I connect Claude or ChatGPT to Amazon product data?

Add https://api.logimu.com/mcp as a connector in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client. Product search and product records, with 30-day price and stock changes, answer 30 queries a day with no signup. Paid plans add the full history, live fetches, tracking, batches and the seller, brand and keyword tools; you sign in from the connector or use your API key. Shopping MCP →
